How it all started…<\/p>\n\n\n

This was the flyer that prompted some 51 original Mile Oakers to attend a get together after some 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both days turned out to be a far greater success than the originators had ever anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves and the sun shone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reunion on the 27th and 28th July 2008 was a huge success and photographs of the day are included on these pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The names of those who attended after som 50 year, most of whom have not met or spoken since those memorable days, are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk<\/a> is what has helped to bring many of these people back in touch after such a long absence. For those who have not visited the site, go to AREAS and MILE OAK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have received an e-mail from Roger Karunaitis-Hudson who wishes us all a happy reunion on the 27th and 28th July. We understand he now lives in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clive Barnett and his wife Jane would love to join us but they now live in Margaret River, Western Australia.  Clive has problems with his back and cannot contemplate long journeys.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Derek Fish has informed us that he cannot attend as he will be in France at the time. If his brother cannot attend he will forward photographs. He sends his regards to everyone who knew him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marian Ditton who originally said she would come to the reunion was unfortunate when returning from holiday, she managed to break her ankle at the airport and for the present has to sit with her leg up and in plaster.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mary Cross now lives in Western Australia and was home at the farm in May. She would love to attend but regrets that she cannot so soon after her last visit. She wishes to be remembered, trusts that we have a fantastic weekend, and should anyone wish to get in touch please contact us for her e-mail address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lynne Abbott who now lives in Idaho  regrets that due to family commitments she will be unable to attend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
